Who Am I To Judge

Who Am I To Judge

June 25, 2020 Love All Judge None Undeniable Truth 0

From the moment I became a Christian, and then finding myself leading into becoming a worship leader, it didn’t take long for me to adopt a nugget passed on in conversation by my Senior Pastor at the time, Ken Roth; Personal Address!

“Why talk ‘about God,’ when you can talk to Him,” Pastor Ken shared.

This took hold and has remained with me ever since … 1995/96 I believe. Every time I hear a worship team, or a song for that matter, if it isn’t in ‘Personal Address’ mode, my mind makes the adjustment; for me, I need to sing and/or worship directly to my God … I choose to make it personal, because really … it’s all about the cross and the One who died for me, you, and every human being on planet earth.

Nothing wrong with singing about God, but considering He is the CEO of the world, our Loving Living God, the same Creator who raised my Lord and Savior from the dead … who spoke our very universe into existence, and has been seeking out personal time with us since the beginning (Genesis 3:9), promising, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age,” Matthew 28:20, moments before ascending up to heaven to be seated at the right hand of His (our) Father, to await His glorious and final return … oh yes … and the same King of kings and Lord of lords who called me His friend (John 15:15), let’s just say it’s a respect thing to make things more personal.

With that said, it all starts with me and my attitude fuelled by gratitude that is deeply rooted in agape love and appreciation, in return for the fact that, ‚Äúthis is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life,” … and eternity is a very long time.

It’s all about the cross! It all starts with me! I owe it, and must humbly humble myself under the mighty hand (power) of God, knowing You will lift me up (and all who choose to believe by faith alone), in due time (free gift of eternal salvation), and will do so with the most grandeur of love, respect, and gratitude for what You have done for me, while (I) we (was) were still sinners!

So I say with utmost humility, who am I to judge or condemn anyone, anytime? I am the created and You are the Creator! I am a god so You tell me, yet a mere mortal god who will die a mortal death; but You are the Living God, and with the same power in which You raised up Your Son, my Lord and Savior, so then, You can and will according to Your word, raise me up also on the last day.

Thank you that I have learned well, although it took me many years to fully grasp it, the fact, that until I remove the log from my own eye, why would I dare suggest to help someone else remove the speck from theirs?

My Lord and my Savior, for everything, I give thanks … therefore … until my numbered days are through … not my will, but Your will be done.
